Sam “Tricky” Trickett was a plumber before turning into a professional poker player and after finishing 2nd in the Las Vegas poker casino tournament, World Series of Poker Big One for One Drop tournament, he will be glad his plumbing days are over.

Sam had this to say: “The first thing I should do now is to call my mum and dad back home in England. The second I heard about the tournament my eyes lit up, and I knew I wanted to be in it.” Sam is now one among the UK’s finest high-stakes poker players. The World Series of Poker tournament that he participated in has the largest entry fee in poker history – $1million!

The chap who beat Sam to the top spot is Antonio Esfandiari who made over £11million. 48 poker players participated in the Las Vegas tournament, including poker legend Phil Hellmuth.
