PartyGaming have purchased the World Poker Tour which means they are getting ready to re-enter the USA casino industry. PartyGaming spent $12.3 million bucks to get the World Poker Tour (WPT) and all its assets.

The assets include the name, WPT, European and USA events that the WPT provide, the TV rights of all their poker tournaments, online poker casinos and all their subscribers, of which there are over 16,000 of. PartyGaming’s main objective was to service the 12 million USA players they have that can no longer play online due to the USA gambling laws.
Now two of the biggest brands in poker (online and offline) have joined forces and the world of poker is in for a major change. The deal between the two brands means that WPT Enterprises will get the sellers payments of $3 million over the next 3 years.
PartyGaming had to push hard for the deal to come though as Mandalay Media tried in the last minute to acquire WPT Enterprises. But they wanted the whole of WPT Enterprises and not just the assets, which PartyGaming have now got.
